As you have done, it will be done to you
“Do not stand at the fork of the road To cut down their fugitives; And do not imprison their survivors In the day of their distress. “For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head.”

Obadiah is written to the nation of Edom as I was reading I remembered what Amos wrote to Edom.
“Thus says the Lord, “For three transgressions of Edom and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because he pursued his brother with the sword, While he stifled his compassion; His anger also tore continually, And he maintained his fury forever. So I will send fire upon Teman And it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.”
Amos 1:11-12 NASB1995

In Amos, they pursued their brother Jacob with a sword. And in Obadiah, they were warned not to stand in the road of fugitives while they were leaving a calamity to either kill them or take them captive. They were warned that whatever they have done will be returned to their head.
I always appreciate it when a football team will gather on a knee around someone who is hurt no matter what team they are on. Those football teams that will not do not have my support. Why? Because we should never gloat over the downfall or rejoice in their calamity. Because whatever befell them might return and befall us.
“If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him. If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall refrain from leaving it to him, you shall surely release it with him.”

“But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Romans 12:20 NASB1995

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
Matthew 5:43-44, 48 NASB1995

Remember what Amos said, “So I will send fire upon Teman”? Obadiah also has something to say to Teman.
“Then your mighty men will be dismayed, O Teman, So that everyone may be cut off from the mountain of Esau by slaughter.”
Obadiah 1:9 NASB1995

Teman was one of the sons of Edom and he became a city, probably the capital of Edom. 5 of the prophetic books of the old testament list Teman by name: Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Amos, Obadiah, and Habakkuk.
“Concerning Edom. Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Is there no longer any wisdom in Teman? Has good counsel been lost to the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?”
Jeremiah 49:7 NASB1995

“Son of man, set your face toward Teman, and speak out against the south and prophesy against the forest land of the Negev,”
Ezekiel 20:46 NASB1995

“God comes from Teman And the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His splendor covers the heavens, And the earth is full of His praise.”
