Galatians 2:19 (CSB) 19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live for God.

Galatians 2:19 (NLT) For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law--I stopped trying to meet all its requirements--so that I might live for God.

No one person can keep the whole law. We are all sinners. So instead of being condemned by the law Paul used the law as a moral compass to keep acting with integrity. He wanted to please God and not walk around in defeat. (Romans 3:23, 1 Thessalonians 4:1, Hebrews 11:6)
