John 15:10 (CSB) "If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love.
Jesus obeyed His Father in all things (John 17:4). And now He remains in His Father's love. We people cannot obey the Father in all things, we all have a past. We can all strive to live and obey God in all things today.
Philippians 4:13 (CSB) I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.
1 John 3:6,9-10 (CSB) Everyone who remains in him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen him or known him.9 Everyone who has been born of God does not sin, because his seed remains in him; he is not able to sin, because he has been born of God. 10 This is how God's children and the devil's children become obvious. Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother or sister.
Mark 14:38 (CSB)
"Stay awake and pray so that you won't enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
1 Peter 1:15-16 (CSB) 15 But as the one who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; 16 for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (CSB) 22 Because of the LORD's faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness!
9 times in Deuteronomy God says we must "purge the evil from you". The old testimony was telling that the people must be put to death for their sins. But now Jesus has become that death and we must purge the evil from within our hearts and help others who want to purge the evil form their hearts. God wants us to be holy. We should not expect to live perfectly everyday for the rest of our lives because our flesh is weak. But if we live by the spirit we will not satisfy the desires of our flesh (Galatians 5:16-17).
