Joshua 1:11,14-15

Joshua 1:11 (CSB) "Go through the camp and tell the people, 'Get provisions ready for yourselves, for within three days you will be crossing the Jordan to go in and take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you to inherit.' "

Verse 11 is about trust. They were to get ready. God is about to do what He said He would do (numbers 23:19).

Joshua 1:14 (CSB) "Your wives, dependents, and livestock may remain in the land Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But your best soldiers must cross over in battle formation ahead of your brothers and help them

Verse 14 is about protection. God's protection on the families on the east side of the Jordan river. The protection provided by the two and a half tribes fighting men for the rest of their brothers. We are also to bear each other's burdens. It may not be our fight but we must be willing to see our brothers get their victories. We don't war against flesh and blood but against the Devil and his army (Ephesians 6:12).

Joshua 1:15 (CSB) "until the LORD gives your brothers rest, as he has given you, and they too possess the land the LORD your God is giving them. You may then return to the land of your inheritance and take possession of what Moses the LORD's servant gave you on the east side of the Jordan."

Verse 15 starts with rest. The fighting men had to keep up fighting till everyone had rest. Then they could rejoice in the victory. We are to rejoice too with those who we have fighting for in prayer (Romans12:15).

Verse 15 finishes with return. After everyone had rest then they could go home to their families. Everyone got to rest with their families. When our fighting is complete and we have fought for our brothers till they have rest. Then we will go to heaven and experience rest with the family of God. Let us do good to all people especially to those who belong to the household of faith (Galatians 6:10).
