Philippians 4:6 (CSB) Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

In everything present your requests to God. This is what we are to do. The how is through prayers and petitions. The attitude we are to have is thanksgiving. Geneses 1:1 says in the beginning God... In the begin of what? Time, yes, but also in the beginning of your situation God is ready for you to bring it to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says cast all your cares on Him. If we give it all to God then the only thing left to do is serve and love God. Everything else will come from God. Numbers 23:19 says God is not a man that He should lie. He has said that He gives good gifts to His children who ask him. Then we can be thankful because He will answer.

​ The women with the issue of blood Soon after I was married our pastor’s wife gave a message called “The Hem of Him” and this woman was the main subject of her message. She talked about how she had to press through the crowd to get to Jesus. She talked about how she was unclean and should not be in the crowd. Then she related it to us that we have to press through all the doubts, internal and external, to get to Jesus. Most certainly we all have heard a message of this woman.  Did you pick up that she had an issue with bleeding for 12 years? Jairus’ daughter was 12 years old. Of course, neither the women nor Jairus knew this but Jesus did. And was willing to help both the synagogue ruler and this poor woman the same. The Word of God is #1 living!

​ I want to take the next 4 to 6 posts in BQTT to dwell on what “the word of God is”. The Word of God is #1 living! In our hands, we do not hold some dusty old relic of some 35 to 40 authors. But a living book written by God through the hands of many different people over 1,000’s of years. Have you ever been reading a normal book and a few words jump off the page to say, “Hey, read me again.”? I bet there have been very few times this has happened, but now, how often have the words written in the Bible done that for you? If you spend any amount of time reading the Bible I would say it has happened more than the normal literature.  Last night I was lying down and a verse reference popped into my head. I did not immediately know the words of this verse but had to look it up.  The verse was, “Who makes a god or casts a metal image for no profit?” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭10‬ ‭HCSB ‬‬ This is another aspect of the Bible being alive.
