Philippians 4:8 (CSB) Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable -- if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy -- dwell on these things.

Whatever is true:
The world has lost sight of what is true. John 14:6 tells us Jesus is the way, the TRUTH and the life. John 17:17 says that God's word is TRUTH. Truth is founded in God. God is not a man who should lie or a son of man that He should change His mind (Numbers 23:19). Whatever is true dwell on such things!

Whatever is Honorable:
Exodus 20:12 (CSB) Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

Leviticus 19:32 (CSB) "You are to rise in the presence of the elderly and honor the old. Fear your God; I am the LORD.

Romans 13:7 (CSB)
Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.

Proverbs 3:9 (CSB)
Honor the LORD with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest;
Many people deserve our Honor, parents, the elderly, military vets, current military, government officials and most of all God. Once again I think the world has lost sight of Honor and chivalry. Honor might mean to show respect to those who acted with chivalry. Chivalry is to act with the best intensions of the people around you. Whatever is honorable dwell on such things.

Whatever is just (right, upright, righteous):
Jesus asked the rich young man: why do you call me good? No one is Good except God alone (Mark 10:18). That is except Jesus because He is God. We all fall short no matter what we look like in the outside we are still sinners who fall short of God's intended purpose in life. So whatever is just is also from God. When a judge makes a just ruling he is acting on the honor and authority of his title which is given to him by God. And he is acting on his knowledge which is also from God. Remember a bribe corrupts the mind (Ecclesiastes 7:7). Whatever is just dwell on such things.

Whatever is pure:
2 Samuel 22:31 (CSB)
God -- his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him.

Psalm 12:6 (CSB)
The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times.

1 Peter 2:2 (CSB)
Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that you may grow up into your salvation,

God's word is pure! The word of God is our pure mirror to help us to live a pure life. Whatever is pure dwell on such things.

Whatever is lovely:
Psalm 84:1 (CSB)
How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD of Armies.

Psalms 22:3 (CSB) But you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.

Psalm 147:1 (CSB)
Hallelujah! How good it is to sing to our God, for praise is pleasant and lovely.

God's dwelling place is lovely. That is heaven, that is our heart, that is our churches, that is our praise. Whatever is lovely dwell on such things.

Whatever is commendable:
Psalm 106:2 (CSB)
Who can declare the LORD's mighty acts or proclaim all the praise due him?

2 Samuel 22:4 (CSB)
I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I was saved from my enemies.

Hebrews 13:15 (CSB)
Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.

Commendable means praiseworthy (To God and to people). Those people who have helped you out. Stop focusing on the hurts and focus on the help you have received. Praise God for his blessings and discipline, for He is making you into a better person. Whatever is commendable dwell on such things.

If there is any moral excellence:
Colossians 3:22-23 (CSB) 22 Slaves, obey your human masters in everything. Don't work only while being watched, as people-pleasers, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people,

Matthew 6:2-4 (CSB) 2 "So whenever you give to the poor, don't sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. 3 "But when you give to the poor, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 "so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Whatever we do to be recognized will be recognized by people, but whatever we do in secrete will be recognized by God. We always need to be thinking how to be a blessing to others while not looking for a reward from them. If there is any moral excellence dwell on such things.

If there is anything praiseworthy:
2 Samuel 22:4 (CSB)
I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I was saved from my enemies.

Psalm 78:4 (CSB)
We will not hide them from their children, but will tell a future generation the praiseworthy acts of the LORD, his might, and the wondrous works he has performed.

Isaiah 63:7 (CSB)
I will make known the LORD's faithful love and the LORD's praiseworthy acts, because of all the LORD has done for us --even the many good things he has done for the house of Israel, which he did for them based on his compassion and the abundance of his faithful love.

Above all dwell on the things God is worthy of praise. A new day! Life! Jesus! If there is anything praiseworthy dwell on such things.
