Hebrews 10:22 (CSB) let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.

This is the first of five "let us" verses found here in Hebrews 10:22-25. Because of the blood, flesh, and priesthood of Jesus (vs 19-21), now we get to draw near to Him and God. Jesus welcomes everyone at first, but as we grow up in Jesus, Jesus expects us to have: a true heart, full assurance of faith, a clean heart from evil, and a washed body with pure water.

When we come to Jesus with sin in our life we are not fooling Him. Jesus wants us to confess and repent of our sins. When sin lives in our life for too long we begin to become calloused to it. And our heart becomes hard as stone. Eventually it will just kill us, first it kills our testimony. Then it kills our fellowship with God. Then it kills our body in sickness till we die. (Ezekiel 11:19, Ezekiel 36:26, 1 Corinthians 11:26-32).

We can know with full assurance that we are saved, but if we are doubting we can come to Jesus and He will confirm that we are indeed sons and daughters of God, and brothers and sisters to Jesus. (1 John 5:13, John 5:24)

Our hearts need to be clean from our evil conscience. For in our conscience we desire, lust, and covet what we don't have, but in our hearts we thank God for what we do have. (1 Timothy 1:5)

Our flesh man does things that our spirit man and our soul knows is sin and all too often our flesh wins. So then we need to come to Jesus and ask Him to wash us with His word and with the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 5:26, Titus 3:5)
