Matthew 4:21 (CSB) Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father, preparing their nets, and he called them.

This is the same James and John that went up the mountain for Jesus transfiguration (Mark 9:2). And they also saw the little girl raised from the dead (Mark 5:37). They are the ones who asked to sit on the right and left of Jesus (Mark 19:35-41). They seem to be always with Jesus. Peter was also always with Jesus. The only time we have recorded that Andrew was apart of the select group of inner disciples was when they asked about the end of the temple in Mark 13:3. Jesus had the twelve disciples, but He focused on mostly Peter, James, and John. If Jesus did only spend the majority of His time with three disciples then we should know and recognize the fact that we cannot do everything our family, job, church or God wants for us. We need to pick three or less ministries to be involved in. One ministry should be our focus and two others would be where we can help out.

We cannot do it all all the time. Work demands our time from the time we clock in till we clock out. Our family demands our time when we are home. Our church will take any and all the time we give it. God wants all of our time. We do not get to choose when we serve God. If we are feeling overwhelmed with the current work load that we have from God then we need to ask The Lord of the harvest to send more laborers to help out.

Luke 10:2 (CSB) He told them, "The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Exodus 18:13-18 (CSB) 13 The next day Moses sat down to judge the people, and they stood around Moses from morning until evening. 14 When Moses's father-in-law saw everything he was doing for them he asked, "What is this thing you're doing for the people? Why are you alone sitting as judge, while all the people stand around you from morning until evening? " 15 Moses replied to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God. 16 "Whenever they have a dispute, it comes to me, and I make a decision between one man and another. I teach them God's statutes and laws." 17 "What you're doing is not good," Moses's father-in-law said to him. 18 "You will certainly wear out both yourself and these people who are with you, because the task is too heavy for you. You can't do it alone.
