Romans 1:17 (CSB) For in it (the Gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.
Habakkuk 2:4 (CSB) Look, his ego is inflated; he is without integrity. But the righteous one will live by his faith.
God's righteousness is revealed through the Gospel. He did not diminish His righteousness, integrity, or holiness to save us from our sins. Instead He provided the sacrifice by the name of Jesus (Genesis 22:7-13, Acts 2:38). Through the Blood of Jesus we are forgiven, healed, and redeemed, but we must repent of our sins, deny our flesh and seek after God. If we are puffed up with pride God cannot do anything with us. He however can, and will, use a humble, broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17).
Psalm 51:17 (CSB)
The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. You will not despise a broken and humbled heart, God.
