Romans 6:15 (CSB) What then? Should we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Absolutely not!

No we are not to continue in sin after we have received Jesus. I love the fact this verse ends in an exclamation point (!). This is not just a casual "we should not sin" this is a bold statement saying we better NOT continue to live in sin! Paul goes on the record to say that the Grace given to us is not for sin but for obedience (Romans 1:5). Jesus wants obedience from us. He wants all our heart, all our body, all our mind, all of our stuff. He wants all of us and all we can give him.

Matthew 7:21-23 (CSB) 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 "On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name? ' 23 "Then I will announce to them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers! '

I believe there are "christians" today that honor God with their mouth but their hearts are far from obeying Him. I don"t know who they are are only God knows people's heart.  But looking on the outside we can see the fruit of their actions. Does someone's life look more like Christ today then it did yesterday? Does someone's life look more like Jesus today then it did last year.  What about me? Do I look more like Jesus than I did yesterday or last year? Have I grown closer to God? Is it evidence to the people around me. Is it even evidence to God that I am pursuing Him. I can only encourage others to pursue God. It is up to me to pursue Him for me.

Isaiah 51:1 (CSB) Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the quarry from which you were dug.

Amos 5:14 (CSB)
Pursue good and not evil so that you may live, and the LORD, the God of Armies, will be with you as you have claimed.

Philippians 3:14 (CSB)
I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:22 (CSB)
Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
