Romans 6:20 (CSB) For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.

The world is free from obeying God! They are still slaves to sin and will not be required to follow righteousness. I do not expect anyone to be following the Bible before they become a Christian. I totally expect them to be living like the world. I however would love to see more Christians living according to the Bible and not like the world. Because we are no longer slaves to sin. For when you were slaves to righteousness, you were free with regard to sin. We are not free to live how we want but we are free from being entangled, bound, and enslaved by sin. 

2 Timothy 2:4 (CSB) 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in the concerns of civilian life; he seeks to please the commanding officer.

1 Timothy 6:9-12 (CSB) 9 But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 11 But you, man of God, flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of eternal life to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

John 8:36 (CSB) "So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.
