Hebrews 9:24 (CSB) For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands (only a model of the true one) but into heaven itself, so that he might now appear in the presence of God for us.

Jesus appeared to the early church in the upper room, on the beach and along the road to Emmaus and Damascus. And at one time he did appear to 500 of the early disciples. But after he had risen he never entered the sanctuary. Now He is in the sanctuary of God’s presence. He is there to lift us up to God. He is there to appeal to God’s grace and mercy to us just like Abraham and Moses appealed to God for His mercy.

Genesis 18:20-26 (CSB) 20 Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is immense, and their sin is extremely serious. 21 "I will go down to see if what they have done justifies the cry that has come up to me. If not, I will find out." 22 The men turned from there and went toward Sodom while Abraham remained standing before the LORD. 23 Abraham stepped forward and said, "Will you really sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 "What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away instead of sparing the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people who are in it? 25 "You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won't the Judge of the whole earth do what is just? " 26 The LORD said, "If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake."

Exodus 32:10-12 (CSB) 10 "Now leave me alone, so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation." 11 But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God: "LORD, why does your anger burn against your people you brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a strong hand? 12 "Why should the Egyptians say, 'He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and eliminate them from the face of the earth'? Turn from your fierce anger and relent concerning this disaster planned for your people.

Jesus is there in God’s presence to pray that our faith may continually be strengthen.

Luke 22:31-32 (CSB) 31 "Simon, Simon, look out. Satan has asked to sift you like wheat. 32 "But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

I would be willing to say that there are two seeking God on our behalf. The devil is seeking for our ruin and Jesus is for our benefit. If satin was able to go before God to ask for Job then why can’t he be up there against us.

Job 1:6-8 (CSB) 6 One day the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. 7 The LORD asked Satan, "Where have you come from? " "From roaming through the earth," Satan answered him, "and walking around on it." 8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity, who fears God and turns away from evil."

Job 2:1-3 (CSB) 1 One day the sons of God came again to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them to present himself before the LORD. 2 The LORD asked Satan, "Where have you come from? " "From roaming through the earth," Satan answered him, "and walking around on it." 3 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity, who fears God and turns away from evil. He still retains his integrity, even though you incited me against him, to destroy him for no good reason."

Thank God that Jesus is with God in His sanctuary for us. He is the spotless lamb. He is the ram God provided. He is the one who can open the scroll.

Revelation 5:1-9 (CSB) 1 Then I saw in the right hand of the one seated on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides, sealed with seven seals. 2 I also saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals? " 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look in it. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Look, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered so that he is able to open the scroll and its seven seals." 6 Then I saw one like a slaughtered lamb standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll out of the right hand of the one seated on the throne. 8 When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and you purchased people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation.
