Hebrews 9:28 (CSB) so also Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Just as humans are to die once Jesus died once. But since He was without sin death could not hold Him down. Soon He will be returning to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Matthew 25:1-12 (CSB) 1 "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom. 2 "Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 "When the foolish took their lamps, they didn't take oil with them; 4 "but the wise ones took oil in their flasks with their lamps. 5 "When the groom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 "In the middle of the night there was a shout: 'Here's the groom! Come out to meet him.' 7 "Then all the virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. 8 "The foolish ones said to the wise ones, 'Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.' 9 "The wise ones answered, 'No, there won't be enough for us and for you. Go instead to those who sell oil, and buy some for yourselves.' 10 "When they had gone to buy some, the groom arrived, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet, and the door was shut. 11 "Later the rest of the virgins also came and said, 'Master, master, open up for us! ' 12 "He replied, 'Truly I tell you, I don't know you! '
Be ready church for your savior is drawing near. Are we waiting expectantly for Him?
This verse (9:28) talks of Salvation for the future. Salvation is talked about in the past, current and future tenses. We are saved when we become born again. Jesus is currently saving us from the attacks of the devil. And in the end times He will save us from this world.
Exodus 15:2 (CSB)
The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.
Isaiah 25:9 (CSB)
On that day it will be said, "Look, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he has saved us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him. Let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."
Psalm 85:9 (CSB)
His salvation is very near those who fear him, so that glory may dwell in our land.
Romans 13:11 (CSB)
Besides this, since you know the time, it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, because now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
Isaiah 45:8 (CSB)
"Heavens, sprinkle from above, and let the skies shower righteousness. Let the earth open up so that salvation will sprout and righteousness will spring up with it. I, the LORD, have created it.
