“1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins 2 in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler who exercises authority over the lower heavens, the spirit now working in the disobedient.” Ephesians 2:1-2 HCSB

Jesus is alive (Ephesians 1: 20-23) but we were dead before Jesus. We don’t have to worship satan to be under the influence of him. We are born into his kingdom. But God redeemed us by paying our debt to Him through Jesus. The world is not going to follow Jesus in of themselves, but we must be the light of Jesus to make Jesus desirable to them. We have a past but that past is forgiven under the blood of Jesus. Satan continues his work in the world but coming is the day in which God gets the final say and all knees will be made to bow down to Jesus.

“Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage. Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death — even to death on a cross. For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow — of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth — and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose. Do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world. Hold firmly to the message of life. Then I can boast in the day of Christ that I didn’t run or labor for nothing.”
