“However, do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are accused, those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame.” 1 Peter 3:16 HCSB
Do what with gentleness and respect? Be ready to give your answer for the hope you have with gentleness and respect. We are not to give the hope to others with all arsenal we have that is reserved for the devil. Because our fight is not against others but against the devil. We respect that others are just humans like us, in need of a savior. They are pre-christians. They are someone who when God knocks on their heart (Revelation 3:16-17) they need to know that He is knocking in Love and He will not kick the door open to get them save. When we speak with gentieness and respect we speak in love and show them that He is Love too. When we don’t speak in gentleness and respect we are speaking out of hatred because we are not willing to admit that they human like us. We however do not need to speak with gentleness and respect to the devil because He is enemy number one.
