“Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to slander no one, to avoid fighting, and to be kind, always showing gentleness to all people.” Titus 3:1-2 HCSB
- To be ready for every good work
We learned in Ephesians 2:8-9 that God has good works for everyone of us to do. But then we should be ready for every good work, just Incase God places it on our heart to do it.
“And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

“So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.”

- To slander no one
Everyone is made in the image of God. Everyone is loved by God. Everyone is equal at the foot of the cross. Everyone has and will sin. We have no right as Christians to slander anybody but we have a command to love everybody! The world can and will slander anybody but God will repay them and us by every thoughtless words we speak.
“A good man produces good things from his storeroom of good, and an evil man produces evil things from his storeroom of evil. I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to account for every careless word they speak. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.””

- To avoid fighting
Fights among the people of God will lead to division. That is something God does not want in His body. We are all created by Him for His work. And He wants us all to do our own part. Fights inside the church will not draw the world to Jesus but love will!
“May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me.”

“But now you must also put away all the following: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth.”
Colossians 3:8 HCSB

- To be kind (always showing gentleness to all people)
To be kind is to be loving! We will then have compassion and mercy on those who deserve and need it most.
““I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.””
