“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” 1 John 5:11 HCSB

God’s testimony is eternal life through His Son. Three three times in the Gospels God speaks, twice to affirm that Jesus is His son, and once to respond to a prayer of Jesus to His father.

“After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on Him. And there came a voice from heaven: This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him!”

“Then Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it’s good for us to be here! If You want, I will make three tabernacles here: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said: This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him. Listen to Him!”

“Father, glorify Your name! ” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again! ””

God’s power was on display which caused a Centurion to release that Jesus was the son of God.

“Jesus shouted again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit. Suddenly, the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom; the earth quaked and the rocks were split. The tombs were also opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. And they came out of the tombs after His resurrection, entered the holy city, and appeared to many. When the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were terrified and said, “This man really was God’s Son! ””

God is wanting to spend eternity with people because He loves them. He loves them so much that He sent His Son Jesus to the earth to live amoung them, to die for their sins and to be raised on the third day to proved He had victory over death. God is wanting life, blessings, and good in our life. He gives all these to those who will believe and follow Jesus.

“If anyone hears My words and doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. The one who rejects Me and doesn’t accept My sayings has this as his judge: The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”
