“Because you say, ‘I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t know that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire so that you may be rich, white clothes so that you may be dressed and your shameful nakedness not be exposed, and ointment to spread on your eyes so that you may see.” Revelation 3:17-18 HCSB

God is our supply! The city of Laodicea was full of wealthy people. Several of them became Christians and they poured their money into the church. Then the church became rich and forgot about God. The pastor (the angel) also bought into this. Now that they have forgotten God they have not bought into God’s riches, but into the word’s riches. So how are they and us to buy from God gold, white clothes, and ointment?

“Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good reserve for the age to come, so that they may take hold of life that is real.”

First we put our hope in God and not money.

““Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! ” You ask: “How do we rob You? ” “By not making the payments of the tenth and the contributions. You are suffering under a curse, yet you — the whole nation — are still robbing Me. Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this way,” says the Lord of Hosts. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not ruin the produce of your land and your vine in your field will not fail to produce fruit,” says the Lord of Hosts.”

Second we give back to God 10% of what He gives us.

““Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of people, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. I assure you: They’ve got their reward! But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”

Third we take our hands off what we give to God. We don’t dictate what and how they use what we gave them.

““If you want to be perfect,” Jesus said to him, “go, sell your belongings and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.””

Matthew 19:21 HCSB

Last of all we follow Jesus.

This will not earn you salvation but you will be purchasing heavenly purified gold, white spotless clothes, and pure healing ointment from God.

To Get salvation we must accept Jesus as savior and Lord.

“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
