If God is holding us with His righteous right hand. Then what is His left hand doing? I believe it is judging. He is the supreme Judge. He made the universe. He made all the rules and laws. And He will judge everyone that breaks them. He set creation in order with the laws of nature. 


Blessing and power is found in God’s right hand and judgement and wrath is found in His Left hand. We love the fact we can find protection in God but we forget that judgement is a part of who He is. We want blessings but when it comes time for discipline we run from it.  In the end discipline is what we need for growth. 


“I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Here are two promises that God made to Abram. First God was with Abram and whoever Abram blesses God would bless and anyone who cursed Abram would be cursed. And then God was going to judge Egypt and the Amorites (Canaanites) because of their sin and treatment of the nation of Israel. 


God has not changed He still has us in His right hand. He still judges the world and their sins. He used water to judge the world while saving Noah and his 7 other family members. He now uses Jesus’ blood to first save the world but then if they reject it then he will use it as judgement against them. 


“I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My words and doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. The one who rejects Me and doesn’t accept My sayings has this as his judge: The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”

Remember our fight is not against the people of the world it is against the ruler of the air, the devil. God’s judgement will be perfect and final when He judges the world and the devil. Our job is to love the people of the world enough to show them Jesus. Do they see Jesus in our words and to our actions back up our words that Jesus is our Lord and savior?


“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. ​ The women with the issue of blood Soon after I was married our pastor’s wife gave a message called “The Hem of Him” and this woman was the main subject of her message. She talked about how she had to press through the crowd to get to Jesus. She talked about how she was unclean and should not be in the crowd. Then she related it to us that we have to press through all the doubts, internal and external, to get to Jesus. Most certainly we all have heard a message of this woman.  Did you pick up that she had an issue with bleeding for 12 years? Jairus’ daughter was 12 years old. Of course, neither the women nor Jairus knew this but Jesus did. And was willing to help both the synagogue ruler and this poor woman the same. The Word of God is #1 living!

​ I want to take the next 4 to 6 posts in BQTT to dwell on what “the word of God is”. The Word of God is #1 living! In our hands, we do not hold some dusty old relic of some 35 to 40 authors. But a living book written by God through the hands of many different people over 1,000’s of years. Have you ever been reading a normal book and a few words jump off the page to say, “Hey, read me again.”? I bet there have been very few times this has happened, but now, how often have the words written in the Bible done that for you? If you spend any amount of time reading the Bible I would say it has happened more than the normal literature.  Last night I was lying down and a verse reference popped into my head. I did not immediately know the words of this verse but had to look it up.  The verse was, “Who makes a god or casts a metal image for no profit?” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭10‬ ‭HCSB ‬‬ This is another aspect of the Bible being alive.
