“For who has known the Lord’s mind, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/1co.2.16.hcsb

Paul here may be quoting Isaiah 40:13 “Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand or marked off the heavens with the span of his hand? Who has gathered the dust of the earth in a measure or weighed the mountains in a balance and the hills in the scales? Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or who gave Him His counsel? Who did He consult with? Who gave Him understanding and taught Him the paths of justice? Who taught Him knowledge and showed Him the way of understanding?”

We cannot tell the Sprit how to move we can only obey or not obey the Spirit.

One way we can follow the leading of the Spirit is in prayer. He can tell us who to pray for and how to pray for them. Sure we may have our prayer lists of people or things we are praying for daily, but how about those times we have a person’s name dropped into our heart and they will not move out. That may just be the Spirit leading you to pray for them right now. So pray for them and as you do I think the Sprit will move you to pray for a specific need that person has. Several times I have been praying for someone and I have been praying the same thing for them each time. We are all connected to each other by the same Spirit of God. So when one part of the body needs help the Sprit moves on another part of the body to help. This then moves us to other works of the Spirit found in 1 Corinthians 12.

“A demonstration of the Spirit is given to each person to produce what is beneficial: to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of languages, to another, interpretation of languages. But one and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as He wills.”

God is letting us know by His Sprit some of His mysteries. He works in mysterious ways but He lets us know how He is working. We may not understand it, we may not grasp it but we can obey it by listening to God.
