The giver does not give to get a reward, the receiver does not seek the gift, but both seek the benefit that is to come the way of the other person. When we give a gift there is a reward for our efforts. When we receive a gift we know that God is supplying a need.

And anyone who welcomes a righteous person because he’s righteous will receive a righteous person’s reward.
