The yoke is either salvation (verses 25-26)or discipline (verses 28-30).
When we get God’s salvation early in life the easier it is to have faith in God. Then also we have more time to grow into mature disciples of Jesus. So it is good to bear the yoke of salvation when we are young.
When we get disciplined early in life it may be harder because we don’t completely understand why, but then the yoke of sin can be easier to break. When we are old and stubborn it may take harder rebuking from God to break us. So it is good to bear the yoke of discipline when we are young.
Either way Jesus’s yoke is easier to handle then the constant yoke of sin. Jesus does not make salvation or discipline hard. He just wants makes our life look like His and He was the perfect example.
