The blood is an important element to God. Blood is the life of a person. We can go a few days without eating. We can go a day with out drinking. We can go a minute with out breathing. But you will die instantly if you have not blood. It is this blood that was shed by ruthless killings that calls out to God and now the earth will no longer cover it up. Will all the soil turn red to show were blood was shed on it? You can wash but it can still show up under UV light. When the earth reveals the blood that was slain on it, God will begin to judge the people because of their wickedness. A hunter was required to cover up the blood after killing an animal (Leviticus 17:13). 

“For the blood she shed is still within her. She put it out on the bare rock; she didn’t pour it on the ground to cover it with dust. In order to stir up wrath and take vengeance, I have put her blood on the bare rock, so that it would not be covered.”

The city of bloodshed was shedding the blood of innocent people openly in her streets, but God did to her wat she was doing to the innocent. 

The most powerful blood on the planet is Jesus’. His blood was spilled for us. He died for us. Because He was cut we can be healed. His blood is what we celebrate in communion in the cup as grape juice or wine.  

“For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: On the night when He was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, “This is My body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper He also took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant established by My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way will be guilty of sin against the body and blood of the Lord.”

Sorry for the bloody subject matter today, but without the blood of Jesus we will still have to offer a yearly sacrifice of either a bull, ram, or goat to cover our sins for a year. But it was Jesus who offered His blood to reconcile us back to God. Do not be ashamed of the blood of Jesus and his work on the cross.
