What work has God done for us, to establish peace for us? 

Vengeance is paid by God. We don’t have to fret or worrry about how to get that one person back for what they did. We forgive them and God judges them.

“Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly.” The Lord will indeed vindicate His people and have compassion on His servants when He sees that their strength is gone and no one is left — slave or free.”

Salvation is a work that was done by God to bring peace to us. Sin’s penalty was paid by the spotless lamb of God, Jesus. We therefore now have peace with God and no longer face his wrath, but are welcomed into his presence. 

“Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

These two things, vengeance and salvation, bring us peace with men and God. We however will still have enemies here on earth. The world and the devil will continue to hate us, because we do not live acourding to their plan or their purpose. We have citizenship in heaven and now is the time for us to standup and declare, “I am not perfect, but my hope and peace lie in God. People may try to get me down. Satin may try to trip me up, but my God will not let me fall for I am trusting in Him. Through Him I have peace and hope.”

If your hope and peace is not in God, then give it to Him. Then you will be able to say, “Lord, You will establish peace for us, for You have also done all our work for us.”
