“Lord, Your hand is lifted up to take action, but they do not see it. They will see Your zeal for Your people, and they will be put to shame. The fire for Your adversaries will consume them!” Isaiah 26:11 HCSB
Who is Isaiah talking about? The wicked man (verse 10). Why does he not see the Lord’s lifted hand? He has not seen God’s majesty? Why has he not seen? He was not shown the rules of God. He was not shown the right way to live, to life. He has been shown favoritism to himself and not discipline. Because he was not shown discipline he is not looking for discipline from God. God disciplines those whom He loves. He corrects those whom God wants to keep on the straight and narrow. He rebukes those whom He wants to save, and that is everyone. He does not discipline, correct, or rebuke out of anger, but out of love. He wants you to have a better life through Him, through Jesus.
God does rain fire of judgment on His enemies. The ultimate enemy of God is the devil. God has given the devil a specific time to be king of the air on the earth because we have given it to him. But God will soon take it back and the devil and his angels will be cast into the fiery pits of hell that was made for them and not for us, but God will allow anyone who chooses to go there to go. He will not hold you back from going, but He will give you every opportunity to repent and decide to change your allegiance from the king of the air to The King of Heaven and Earth.
“But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, double-minded people!”
