“Open the gates so a righteous nation can come in — one that remains faithful.” Isaiah 26:2 HCSB

Once salvation is our wall and rampart. Next, we open our gates to let in people to our church, our inner circle, and our lives. We help them Jesus as their Savior and Lord by witnessing to them. Next, we disciple, train, them to be a close follower of Jesus. So that when they face to troubles of life they can lean on Jesus. We do not know who will be faithful. We don’t know who will respond to the calling of the Holy Spirit. But it is our job to welcome them in. We cannot judge the world because they don’t look like the church, but we welcome them in so that Jesus can do his cleaning work. The same work that He did and is doing in us. To quote Andy Stanley in his series “Address the Mess” - “God Loves all the little messes of the world. He just does not want to keep you that way.”

“Each day its gates will never close because it will never be night there. They will bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. Nothing profane will ever enter it: no one who does what is vile or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

As try as we can here on earth we cannot be the perfect church for Jesus all the time. But when we get to heaven and God restores His Rule on earth then we will be saved in the city of God. And the gates will not be shut because we will be the faithful of God written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. 

Keep your head up you saint of God. He will perfect what He started in you. Don’t give up on Him for He has not given up on you.
