“For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God’s sons to be revealed.” Romans 8:19 HCSB

Reveled can be defined as manifestation or appearance. 

If you remember from Romans 8:14 that everyone who is lead by the Spirit is God’s sons. The World is waiting for people to be lead wholly by the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit. Why? 

The world remembers what it was like in the first days before Adam and Eve gave up the dominion God gave them. The creation wants God back on the throne of this world. It hates the fact that God has allowed Satan to become Prince of the Air. 

When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil they sinned and gave up the right to be the King and Queen of the earth, world, and creation. They had the power to subdue all the animals. They had the command of God to fill the earth and multiply. But most of all they gave up being in the likeness of God, perfect and Holy.

“So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.”

We don’t remember what that was like. We do know that God said it was perfect, very good.

“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day.”

The world remembers this too and it will forever. 

We think that the world is a moving mass of rock and earth and it is, but God has given it attributes that we would associate with something that was alive.

“For look, the Lord is coming from His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal the blood shed on it and will no longer conceal her slain.”

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands. Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. We will be talking about some more attributes of the earth in the next 3 verses in Romans 8. But for now, just know that the earth is waiting for people to be lead by the Holy Spirit so that the scale will tip back toward God being in control and not Satan.
