“No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37 HCSB

In verse 35 Paul asked the question, “Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” So now he is answering for us. No, affliction, anguish, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword cannot separate us from the love of God.

But we are more than conquers in all these things. The Christian life is not a defeated life. Because Jesus rose out of the grave on the third day we know that we have the victory over everything. By Jesus raising He was establishing the dominion that Adam gave away in the Garden. Because Jesus did not stumble out of the grave, He marched victoriously out and now we can march victoriously against any situation that would try to separate us from God’s love. The Christian life is a victorious life. it is just up to you if you want to live that way and be a powerhouse for God or be defeated and sit the bench and watch everyone else play.

We are more than conquers in Jesus! We can do nothing on our own. But when we join God’s army, we have God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, all the former saints, and the current saints on our side. God does not tempt us, but when we are tempted He shows us that way out. Jesus knows our weaknesses but He intercedes of us to God. The Holy Spirit also groans within our selves to God. The former Saints are a great cloud of witnesses to encourage us to keep up the good fight of faith. And the current saints are the Church who are here to help us to be unified with each other and with God.

“So, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it.”

“Therefore, He had to be like His brothers in every way, so that He could become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tested and has suffered, He is able to help those who are tested.”

“In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings.”

“All these were approved through their faith, but they did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, so that they would not be made perfect without us.”

“Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.”

“May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me. I have given them the glory You have given Me. May they be one as We are one. I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.”

Be more than victorious in Jesus, because He as made us that way. Be a powerhouse because He has given you the power. Be who you are made to be in Christ. Be a witness and an example.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

“Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
