“Deal generously with Your servant so that I might live; then I will keep Your word. Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wonderful things from Your instruction. I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me. I am continually overcome with longing for Your judgments. You rebuke the proud, the ones under a curse, who wander from Your commands. Take insult and contempt away from me, for I have kept Your decrees. Though princes sit together speaking against me, Your servant will think about Your statutes; Your decrees are my delight and my counselors.” Psalms 119:17-24 HCSB
The third letter of the Hebrew alphabet is called "Gimmel" (pronounced geeh-mel"). ”Gimmel” is the title of the verses 17-24. The first letter ”Aleph” represented God the Father. The second letter ”Bet” represented Jesus. So next would be The Holy Spirit. ”Gimmel” also represents giving, the act of the kinsman-redeemer, Boaz in the Old Testament.

The Holy Spirit offers us grace, not giving us what we deserve. He does deal generously with us. Then the Psalmist promised to keep God’s Word. Will we?

The Holy Spirit reveals God’s instructions to us. He is the one who gives us clarification of God’s word.

Under the direction of The Holy Spirit we are to be unique. We are to not look like the world, but like a stranger —1 Peter 2:9 and Romans 12:1-2.

We are to want God’s judgements in our life. Because we know that His judgments will remove any hindering habits in us. those of us who do not want the judgemet of God is too comfortable in their sin. the Holy Spirit brings a heart of repentace into our lives.

God will rebuke, out of love for you, you for not living under His commands for you. The Holy Spirit will bring to rememberance the commands of God you have read, heard and studied to keep you aligned with the His Commands.
“Take insult and contempt away from me, for I have kept Your decrees.”

We can walk in pease because The Holy Spirit causes insults to be forgotten and the Word to be heard. Contempt will be removed when God is all we need. To show contempt toward another person means we look down on them. As we look to God we see we are nothing according to His vast everything. The we are on the same nothingness of every other Pierson we come in contact with.

The attacks of the world can to strong for those who look unique, but The Holy Spirit causes us to remember how God sees us. we may be nothing Be He Loves us beyond measure.

do we delight in the Word of God, Jesus or do we delight in the things this world has to offer? is the Word of God a counselor to us or a dusty old relic? to neglect the Bible is to neglect your own soul. the Bible brings refreshing to our lives like nothing else on this side of eternity can. Allow The Holy Spirit to refresh you through the Word of God.
