“For in subjecting everything to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. As it is, we do not yet see everything subjected to him.” Hebrews 2:8b HCSB

Jesus has been granted everything under His feet, but now He waits till it can all be put under His feet. He does not know the day nor the hour when it will be accomplished, but He does know it will happen. He has faith in God to hope for things not yet seen.

How about us, do we have the faith in God to wait 2,000 years for the fulfillment of His promise? No. How about 2,000 months (167 years)? No. How about 2,000 days (5.5 years)? Maybe. How about 2,000 hours (83 days)? Maybe. How about 2,000 minutes (33 hours)? That would not be faith. But some of us could not even wait that long. We want it now. Why wait when you can have it today!

Able never saw his promise, but He had the faith to offer a better sacrifice. Abraham never saw the fulfillment of His promise, but He had to wait at least 13 years for Isaac. Moses never saw the fulfillment of his promise but had to wait 80 years to get just a peek of the Promise Land from the peak of a mountain. David never saw the fulfillment of his promise, but He was given a son to fulfill it. And so on in Hebrews 11.

Faith is a long expectant hope in God that whatever He said He will do! We may not see it in our lifetime, but can we trust God to do it? Yes!

“Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. For our ancestors won God’s approval by it.”

What are you waiting for God to do? Do not give up. You never know when He will complete it, but rest assured He will complete it. Jesus is waiting on His Father to give the word. You can too! We can too! I can too!
