“Let Your faithful love come to me, Lord, Your salvation, as You promised. Then I can answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in Your word. Never take the word of truth from my mouth, for I hope in Your judgments. I will always obey Your instruction, forever and ever. I will walk freely in an open place because I seek Your precepts. I will speak of Your decrees before kings and not be ashamed. I delight in Your commands, which I love. The sixth section of Psalms 119 is 41-48 and the title is “Vav” “Vav” is a tent peg or hook. Being the sixth letter it is also the letter for man. “Vav” has the sound of v as in vine and in ancient Hebrew was pronounced like a w.

The Psalmist wanted salvation attached to him. No person wants salvation to be wavering, but here to stay.

His anchor is in what God says about him and not the judgments of the men around him. God says your His child, believe it!

He wanted the Words of Truth to be firmly fixed in his mouth. He did not want to face judgment for the careless words the world often uses (Matthew 12:36).
“I will always obey Your instruction, forever and ever.”

God’s instructions were firmly fixed in his heart and he would allow them to change who was into the better person living for God.
“I will walk freely in an open place because I seek Your precepts.”

When we walk according to God’s guideline we find our selves in open fields. When we walk in the “freedom” of the world we find ourselves trapped in dark dead-end allies. God has the best things in store for us when we walk in His ways.

God’s decrees have proven to be true in the life of the Psalmist that he would declare them to Kong’s as rules for them. God said it so it settles it for me because He has proved to be right 100% of the time.
“I delight in Your commands, which I love.”
