“Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?” Matthew 6:26 HCSB

Why does God value us more than birds, animals, and any other created thing on this earth? Why were we worth dying for? Genesis 2 give us this answer:

“Then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.”
Genesis 2:7 HCSB

“So the Lord God formed out of the ground every wild animal and every bird of the sky, and brought each to the man to see what he would call it. And whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name.”
Genesis 2:19 HCSB

Everything was created out of the dust of the Earth, but man was given the very breath of life from God. We are his Image and contain His breath. If you doubt your worth to God, don’t. He loved you enough to send Jesus to die for you. So do you love Him enough to accept His offer of son-ship, or daughter-ship alongside Jesus? You are worth more than the birds of the sky to God.

“For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began.”
Psalms 139:13-16 HCSB

“You will be My people, and I will be your God.”
Jeremiah 30:22 HCSB

“I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.”
Leviticus 26:12 HCSB

God sees a great worth in us. At times we may not see it. But God always has a plan for us. Some of us know what it is and are walking in it. While others know what it is and is running from it. Others yet don’t know and don’t want to know. Listen to what God says to his people who are in bondage in Babylon:

“For this is what the Lord says: “When 70 years for Babylon are complete, I will attend to you and will confirm My promise concerning you to restore you to this place. For I know the plans I have for you” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you” — this is the Lord’s declaration. “I will restore you to the place I deported you from.”
Jeremiah 29:10-14 HCSB
