“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you have knowledge.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Does every Christian have an anointing from God?

As we talked in verse 19 this church was operating in the Holy Spirit and the deceivers could not gain control of the church so they left. So it seems that this church or the pastor had an anointing that covered the church with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Is there a difference between an anointing and a calling?

It is true that everyone has a calling from God. For we all have a part to play in the family of God. In the body of Christ. We all compile the body of Christ. We have a talent to contribute. When we step into that role then I think the anointing gets applied to us.

Does every Christian have the knowledge for their own calling?

No, We must ask God for it and depend on God for it. We all must be willing to learn from the teachers around us, whether it be in school, home, college, or in life in general. But then we can ask God for the wisdom and God will grant it

“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Knowledge is learned through study and Wisdom is learned through experience. We have the best Teacher in God. He holds all knowledge and wisdom. He set up the rules of science to let the world continue in day to day operations. He set the world in motion and holds it in the palm of His hand. God has experienced everything. He even experienced death and rejection through Jesus. So we can gain all wisdom and knowledge from Him because He has it to offer.

So, no, I do not think that every Christians has an anointing currently working in their life, but they have a calling to do, and when they step into that calling God’s anointing will come. No, not every Christian has the wisdom and knowledge they need but they need to rely on God to supply the wisdom and knowledge to complete their calling.

It all boils down to God has a plan for you and me and it is our job to lean on Him and the fellow believers in our lives for everything we need to accomplish it.

This church had a pastor who was walking in His anointing and therefor the people of the church had the wisdom to operate as a whole united body of Christ.

Are we helping to contribute to the knowledge and unity of our local body of Christ? If not why not? If so keep relying on God for more knowledge and wisdom to keep it up.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.”
