“Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15 HCSB https://www.bible.com/72/1jn.2.15.hcsb
To love the world and the world’s stuff is in direct opposition to love God. We are in the world so that others may see our life and decide to stop loving the world and love God. So how are we to use the world’s stuff to win people to God?
First, we are to take care of it. Do you have a car, house, or other possession that God has blessed you with? Keep it looking nice. We are not to keep pace with the Jones next door, but we are to make it look as nice as we can.
Second, we are to find a way to use it for Godly works and not for worldly pleasures. Open your home to someone who cannot invite you to theirs. Give someone a ride to and from church. Send an encouraging text, message, email, or other social media post to someone who needs it today.
A story is told of a husband who invited a young man over to His home. This young man smoked and while talking to the husband had one in his hand. During the course of the conversation the young man never put it out and it fell to the table. When the young man left the wife came and asked the husband why the table was burnt from the cigarette. The husband explained that during the course of the conversation that the young man had given his life to Christ and became a Christian. During the course of their ministry in the Navigators, they never fixed or replaced the table. Why? Because it was a reminder to them to love people more than the stuff they have.
“Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God.”

“For an overseer, as God’s administrator, must be blameless, not arrogant, not hot-tempered, not addicted to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money, but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, righteous, holy, self-controlled, holding to the faithful message as taught, so that he will be able both to encourage with sound teaching and to refute those who contradict it.”

And Last, remember it is not ours but it all belongs to God. God made it way back in the creation of the earth. God has given people the wisdom to use tools to mold and make things out of the raw material He has given to us.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.”
