“Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.” 1 John 2:8 HCSB

The world has their golden rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated. But God has set up a platinum rule: Love others the way God has loved you.
“Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them — this is the Law and the Prophets.”

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her to make her holy, cleansing her with the washing of water by the word. He did this to present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and blameless.”

This rule or command goes beyond any of our feelings. It goes beyond any of our wants. It has it’s standard as God and His love toward all people no matter how they look, act, or believe.
John 3:16 and 17 is at the very heart of this command. God has such great love for all people that He sent Jesus to die for the sins of all people so that no one may perish but have eternal life through His son Jesus.
If God loves all the people of this world that much should not His children love His people that much?
