“In addition, we are found to be false witnesses about God, because we have testified about God that He raised up Christ — whom He did not raise up if in fact the dead are not raised.” 1 Corinthians 15:15 HCSB
Did God raise Jesus from the dead on the third day? To us, I think that is a quick yes. That is why we call our selves Christians. But the Corinthian church was not sure because some people, as we talked a few verses ago, have brought a theology that does not raise up dead people. So now they have to ask themselves did God really raise up Jesus on the third day? The answer Paul is saying is yes. And if you don’t believe it then you are making God out to be a lier.
But then God can’t lie.
“God is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes His mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?”

“in the hope of eternal life that God, who cannot lie, promised before time began.”

So if God cannot lie did He say that Jesus would rise up form that narrowed tomb?
“For You will not abandon me to Sheol; You will not allow Your Faithful One to see decay.”

“Yet the Lord was pleased to crush Him severely. When You make Him a restitution offering, He will see His seed, He will prolong His days, and by His hand, the Lord’s pleasure will be accomplished.”

Well, maybe Jesus was the only exception to being raised from the dead. There is no hope for us. Well, think again. We will be raised up with Jesus.
“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to eternal life, and some to shame and eternal contempt.”
Daniel 12:2 HCSB

“Come, let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, and He will heal us; He has wounded us, and He will bind up our wounds. He will revive us after two days, and on the third day He will raise us up so we can live in His presence. Let us strive to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the land.”

While we may know that Jesus has been raised from the dead and we may know that we will be raised up with Him in His right time. What else may we be guilty of saying that God is a lier? Have we really taken His word as the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
“The entirety of Your word is truth, and all Your righteous judgments endure forever.”
Psalms 119:160 HCSB

“You are a king then? ” Pilate asked.
“You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”
“What is truth? ” said Pilate. After he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them, “I find no grounds for charging Him.”
