“And just as we have borne the image of the man made of dust, we will also bear the image of the heavenly man.” 1 Corinthians 15:49 HCSB
Here is a news flash for everyone. We look like Adam. He was made in the image of God and we continue to look like him. He was not created like the caveman that the scientific community wants us to believe he evolved from, but He was made to stand upright with an equally portioned body as we have. He was made at the beginning with all the different genetic information that makes us all different. He was made with all kinds of intelligence far beyond what we know now. We were born to bear the image of Adam.
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female.”

But then something happened that changed Adam from the image of God into the hollow shell that we see the world in today. And that something is sin. Adam along with his perfect bride, Eve, took the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and at it. They then learned what was right and wrong. up to that point they only know that God said:
“You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.”

God did not remove his presence from Adam and Eve, but they removed themselves from His presence unknowingly. They disobeyed God and they hid because now they knew they were naked.
To this day we still bear this image of Adam, but there is a hope. Jesus has come to restore the image of God to us. You see He came from heaven to pay our debt to God, which we are unable to pay. He came to bring the kingdom of God back to individual people and a day is coming when He will bring the kingdom of God back to the world for 1,000 years. and then after that, He will set up His permanent Kingdom for all of His children to enjoy. But before all that happens we must become born again into the kingdom of God. We will not be automatically included in God’s kingdom we must be willing to accept the plan of God for our own lives. Even if it is in our dying breath we must all accept Jesus as dying on the cross for our sins. God has paid the debt but we must sign the approval letter that allows Him to pay for it in our account. In this way, we start the process of bearing the image of the heavenly man. Then continually each day we must crucify our own fleshly desires and pursue His spiritual desires for our lives.
“I affirm by the pride in you that I have in Christ Jesus our Lord: I die every day!”

“Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory. Give no offense to the Jews or the Greeks or the church of God, just as I also try to please all people in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, so that they may be saved.
Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ.”

Which image will we bear? Will we continue to bear the image of Adam only and live the same emptiness we find in the world? Or will we bear the image of Jesus and find and offer hope? God is ready to help all those who want to become more like the Image of Jesus, but the Devil is ready to discourage you from finding your image in Jesus.
“Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
