“Listen! I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 HCSB
I do believe Paul believed it could happen in his lifetime. But then every generation should believe that it could happen in their generation.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

What are we talking about? We are talking about the resurrection of the dead on the last day. With a blast from a heavenly trumpet, Jesus will be allowed to reach down to earth and grab up His church, His bride. The dead in Christ will be grabbed first and then in the same second of time, the living church will be grabbed up too. And all at once, heaven will be filled with people who belong to Jesus, who have accepted Him as Savior and Lord. And finally, we will be changed from this corruptible flesh into our heavenly bodies which cannot be corruptible again.
You see that this is not something to be discouraged about, but rather encouraged. Because this news is to be encouraging to each one of us. We will finally meet our maker in the sky and be free from the bondage of the flesh and sin. Unless you want to be here during all of the judgments of God.
“The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire, mixed with blood, were hurled to the earth. So a third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain ablaze with fire was hurled into the sea. So a third of the sea became blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from heaven. It fell on a third of the rivers and springs of water.
The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day was without light, and the night as well.”
Revelation 8:7-10, 12 HCSB

“He opened the shaft of the abyss, and smoke came up out of the shaft like smoke from a great furnace so that the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the shaft. Then locusts came out of the smoke on to the earth, and power was given to them like the power that scorpions have on the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green plant, or any tree, but only people who do not have God’s seal on their foreheads. They were not permitted to kill them but were to torment them for five months; their torment is like the torment caused by a scorpion when it strikes a man.
The sixth angel blew his trumpet. From the four horns of the gold altar that is before God, I heard a voice say to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels bound at the great river Euphrates.” So the four angels who were prepared for the hour, day, month, and year were released to kill a third of the human race.”
Revelation 9:2-5, 13-15 HCSB

But God is offering a way out of all that and it is through His Son Jesus. God’s judgments are punishment because the people are unwilling to repent from their sins. They continue to sin no matter what happens during these 6 trumpets.
“The rest of the people, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands to stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which are not able to see, hear, or walk. And they did not repent of their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immorality, or their thefts.”
Revelation 9:20-21 HCSB

But for those who will repent and turn from their evil ways is waiting heaven and big houses that Jesus has prepared for us.
“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you.”
John 14:2 HCSB

Would you rather live in a house that Jesus has prepared for you or in Hell that was prepared for the Devil and His angels?
“Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels!”
Matthew 25:41 HCSB

So be encourage today. Jesus is preparing for you and me places to live in Heaven. Now we must do our part and live for Him!
