“So it is with the resurrection of the dead: Sown in corruption, raised in incorruption; sown in dishonor, raised in glory; sown in weakness, raised in power; sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:42-44‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

At the resurrection of the dead, each one will be raised to their own splendor. Just as each star has a different splendor than all the others so it will be for those who are raised from the dead during Jesus’ second coming.

The splendor we will acquire will not be for pride but will be for God.

“the 24 elders fall down before the One seated on the throne, worship the One who lives forever and ever, cast their crowns before the throne, and say: Our Lord and God, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, because You have created all things, and because of Your will they exist and were created.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4:10-11‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

We will not want to hang on to our accomplishments for God but will willingly give it back to Him. We will have an attitude of servitude because God’s glory will overpower anything that we feel we could boast about.

We were born into a corrupted body but we will be raised to a new life in an incorruptible body.

We were born into a dishonoring body but we will be raised to a new life in a glorifying body.

We were born into a weak body but we will be raised to a new life in a power-filled body.

We were born into a natural body but we will be raised to a new life in a spiritual body.

We will finally be holy as He is holy.

“For I am Yahweh, who brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God, so you must be holy because I am holy.”

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

But for now, while we still have time here on earth let us strive to be holy as God is holy. Let us do His work now. And let us be about the Father’s business and not our own. We have been bought with a price so do not let that price be paid in vain. If for nothing else but for practice for heaven. But maybe for the greatest reward so that other corrupted people will see Jesus in us and turn to Him and be healed from their sin as we have been.

“And He replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive. Dull the minds of these people; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.”
