Through Adam, we inherit our sinful nature and our flesh, but through Jesus, the last Adam, we inherit a living Spirit and the right to be called sons and daughters of God.
“But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, or of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of God.”

“As He began His ministry, Jesus was about 30 years old and was thought to be the son of Joseph, son of Heli,...son of Enos, son of Seth, son of Adam, son of God.”

Joseph was not Jesus’ real father. God was His real Father through the Holy Spirit, but Joseph did adopt Him and raise Him as his own. So Jesus did not inherit His sinful nature from Joseph as we do, but He inherited from God, who has no sin nature. And by doing so He was able to live in the flesh without being overcome with temptation. He was tempted but never yielded to its power. And as He suffered in temptation and physical anguish He won the right to hand us back to God as His sons and daughters. Jesus became the example of a life lived for God. It is not an impossible task because the Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus to help those who would follow Him.
“Though He was God’s Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered.”

“I assure you: The one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.”

If our lives are filled with His power congrats we are on the right path, but if it is not we must ask ourselves why. God has granted us His power, His Spirit, and His Son as ours. We as sons of God must walk according to Jesus who is the life-giving Spirit and put to death the works of Adam in our lives.
“I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit.”
