“His voice shook the earth at that time, but now He has promised, Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also heaven. This expression, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of what can be shaken — that is, created things — so that what is not shaken might remain.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:26-27‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“For the Lord of Hosts says this: “Once more, in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.”

We are going to look at - how Jesus shook the earth while He was living. How the three heavens will be shaken. And how this all shakes down to us.

First, How did Jesus shake the world when He walked among His people for 33 years. The first instance that comes to mind would be His last shaking is when He came back to life on the third day, on the day we call Easter or resurrection Sunday.

“Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, because an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and approached the tomb. He rolled back the stone and was sitting on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his robe was as white as snow. The guards were so shaken from fear of him that they became like dead men.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:2-4‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

So yes it was an angel who shook the ground, but they did it at the command of God to get Jesus out. From this point on the kingdom of Satan has changed, because He has lost. Three days earlier he figured he had won because Jesus was dead. Jesus shifted the power back to God because Adam had given it away to Satan in the garden. This shaking continues till even today until Satan, his angels, and his followers will be locked away in hell for the rest of eternity.

The second shaking that comes to mind is up on the Mount of Olives.

“Then Jesus, knowing everything that was about to happen to Him, went out and said to them, “Who is it you’re looking for? ” “Jesus the Nazarene,” they answered. “I am He,” Jesus told them. Judas, who betrayed Him, was also standing with them. When He told them, “I am He,” they stepped back and fell to the ground.”

The ground may not have been shaken but their foundations were shaken at the word, “I am”. In English, we recognize that this is the same name God used to tell Moses who had sent him back to Egypt.

“God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Now Jesus was constantly shaking up normal by doing miracles and challenging the beliefs of the people and leaders of his day. Whether it came to the sabbath or the right to forgive sins everyone who heard Jesus was shaken, whether they did something with it was up to them. In the end, He had only the 12 following Him, everyone else was so shaken that they stopped following Him.

So then what can be shaken in heaven.

The first and easy one is the first heaven that is the air we breathe. How can God shake the air we breathe and remove the created things? Maybe all the planes will fall out of the sky. And every other thing that is created will no longer fly. I don’t know of a bible verse to back up this point, but if God is going to shake the first heaven and remove everything that is created then everything that is flying will fall.

The same is true with the second heaven. All our space junk, satellites, and the space station will be shaken out of their orbits and fall to the ground.

What about the third heaven? How can God shake everything in heaven that is created? We first have to remember the angels, demons, and Satan are created beings. We know Satan has access to enter heaven and appear before God. So if he can then every other angel, good or bad, can also approach God. So then when heaven is shaken Satan and his angels will no longer have the opportunity to approach God. God will only be in the presence of holy people and angels for the first time since the fall of Satan.

So how does all this shake down to us? We have a choice to be a holy person who is allowed into God’s holy heaven by accepting the redemptive work of Jesus, or we can choose to live the way we were born in rebellion toward God. But know this, God will shake your world for you. Whether it will be your beliefs in Him that have been created, or your attitudes toward Him. If they are founded on the unshakeable word of God they will last, but if they are made up teachings of man then they will be shaken and challenged.

“Disregarding the command of God, you keep the tradition of men.” He also said to them, “You completely invalidate God’s command in order to maintain your tradition!”

Get ready as we see The Day approaching, God is getting ready to shake His people and align their beliefs in Him to His word. Will we be moved or will be shaken and broken

“But He looked at them and said, “Then what is the meaning of this Scripture: The stone that the builders rejected — this has become the cornerstone? Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, and if it falls on anyone, it will grind him to powder! ””
