“Now in the house the disciples questioned Him again about this matter.” Mark 10:10 HCSB
Imagine the conversations that took place inside the house between Jesus and the disciples. This conversation was about divorce. They had other conversations about the parables Jesus told. Jesus was a bit selective about His words in the public eye, only to keep the people wondering and not to be secretive. But with the disciples, He had open and honest conversations.
“For this reason I speak to them in parables, because looking they do not see, and hearing they do not listen or understand.
“But your eyes are blessed because they do see, and your ears because they do hear! For I assure you: Many prophets and righteous people longed to see the things you see yet didn’t see them; to hear the things you hear yet didn’t hear them.”

How is your conversation with Jesus in your house? Does He get time to speak with you and you with Him? How much time, five minutes, or maybe 10, or an hour, or maybe even better 16+ hours? Do we meditate on His word day and night? Do we pray continuously?
“This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.”

How about your relationship with people? When was the last time you opened your home to a few friends to open the word of God together? Have you been hospitable to those who cannot pay you back? Do you find time throughout the day to speak to your coworkers about God? Or are we so engrossed in our devices that we have missed the need in the room?
“While they were traveling, He entered a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who also sat at the Lord’s feet and was listening to what He said. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, and she came up and asked, “Lord, don’t You care that my sister has left me to serve alone? So tell her to give me a hand.”
The Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has made the right choice, and it will not be taken away from her.”

“He also said to the one who had invited Him, “When you give a lunch or a dinner, don’t invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, or your rich neighbors, because they might invite you back, and you would be repaid. On the contrary, when you host a banquet, invite those who are poor, maimed, lame, or blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

“These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Instead of slandering someone on social media why not spend one hour with them over a cup of coffee or tea. Walk a mile with them, but then go another mile and stretch yourself. We all need social interaction. Today we live behind devices skyping, zooming, or texting, and during this global pandemic, our governing authorities have decided that social distancing and masks are needed to stop the spread, but we also must have time with people in the flesh. Jesus did not shy away from people but He gave time to each and every person who crossed paths especially if it was inconvenient for Him or maybe even inconvenient for them.
“Soon afterward He was on His way to a town called Nain. His disciples and a large crowd were traveling with Him. Just as He neared the gate of the town, a dead man was being carried out. He was his mother’s only son, and she was a widow. A large crowd from the city was also with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Don’t cry.” Then He came up and touched the open coffin, and the pallbearers stopped. And He said, “Young man, I tell you, get up! ” The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.”

Do not neglect conversation with God, those in your house, and those whom you run into on the street. It may be a simple hello or a lengthy conversation. But everyone is longing for interaction with other people.
