“Some people were bringing little children to Him so He might touch them, but His disciples rebuked them.” Mark 10:13 HCSB
These parents saw it as good to take their kids to Jesus. But His disciples were looking out for Jesus. They wanted to stop the kids so that He would not be overwhelmed. They saw Jesus overwhelmed, undernourished, and super tired and did not want more on His plate. But they forgot who He was. He was Jesus. If He needed more support God could send legions of Angles to assist Him.
“Or do you think that I cannot call on My Father, and He will provide Me at once with more than 12 legions of angels?”

Why did the parents think it was good for Jesus to touch their kids? They thought it would be good to be blessed by a good teacher, or a rabbi, or by a miracle worker, or by their Messiah. They saw something in Jesus and wanted it to be passed down to their kids. Or maybe they wanted Jesus to cure their kids of any and all future Illnesses. Or maybe they wanted Jesus to bless them that they could be a rabbi like Jesus was.
When did it become a good idea to prevent kids from going to church? When the world saw that the church was no longer relevant to the gospel! When the church began teaching theology that was contradictive to the bible. When they felt their kids were no longer safe at church. When they felt their kids were no longer welcome at church.
Jesus’ disciples were turning away the kids, and now the church is turning away kids. Let us repent and turn back to be a place where Kids would be safe, welcome, and taught the whole gospel of Jesus. Where they will receive Jesus and Jesus will receive them.
