“They said, “Moses permitted us to write divorce papers and send her away.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭HCSB‬

“If a man marries a woman, but she becomes displeasing to him because he finds something improper about her, he may write her a divorce certificate, hand it to her, and send her away from his house.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭24:1‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

So how the Pharisees answered Jesus was correct. But Jesus had an amendment to the law, not a deletion but a clarification.

“But Jesus told them, “He wrote this command for you because of the hardness of your hearts.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

It was not the intention of God to allow divorce but to create unity. God will allow us to do things in our life but they are not part of His master plan but will allow them to become something that will work to the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.”

Now, if we had stayed on the perfect path then God will incredibly bless us. So not to divorce would be the better option.

“If he hates and divorces his wife, ” says the Lord God of Israel, “he covers his garment with injustice,” says the Lord of Hosts. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.”

‭‭Malachi‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“I command the married — not I, but the Lord — a wife is not to leave her husband. But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband — and a husband is not to leave his wife. But I (not the Lord) say to the rest: If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not leave her. Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not leave her husband. For the unbelieving husband is set apart for God by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is set apart for God by the husband. Otherwise your children would be corrupt, but now they are set apart for God. But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace. For you, wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Or you, husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭7:10-16‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

This does not just apply to marriage, but to all of life. We face many different challenges. Some decisions are no brainers. Some are difficult. But in them, all God has a perfect plan in every decision. Let us strive to make the perfect plan of God our decision path in life. So that the world may see that we Christians are blessed when we go in and blessed when we go out. Listen to the command God gave Solomon and the guy who would take the other 10 tribes out of his hands.

“If you walk in My ways and keep My statutes and commands just as your father David did, I will give you a long life.””

‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“After that, if you obey all I command you, walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight in order to keep My statutes and My commands as My servant David did, I will be with you. I will build you a lasting dynasty just as I built for David, and I will give you Israel.”

‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭11:38‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

This command of God goes out to all of us to follow all He commands us, then he will be with us. In every decision make obeying God number one in our lives!
