“When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me. Don’t stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14 HCSB
What is indignant? According to Google Dictionary, it is feeling or showing anger or annoyance at what is perceived as unfair treatment. Jesus was showing anger and annoyance that the disciples were showing unfair treatment toward the kids. Kids in the presence of Jesus are to be welcomed and not thought of as a distraction, or annoyance. Let the children come to Jesus.
God holds children in high regard in His love. He has dispatched an angel for each kid.
“See that you don’t look down on one of these little ones, because I tell you that in heaven their angels continually view the face of My Father in heaven.”

Great punishments are awaiting those who cause kids to not believe in God.
“It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to stumble.”
Luke 17:2 HCSB

We see here in Mark 10 that the kingdom of God belongs to kids.
“When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me. Don’t stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Mark 10:14 HCSB

“Then He called a child to Him and had him stand among them. “I assure you,” He said, “unless you are converted and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child — this one is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Not only does God care about the young in physical age but the young in spiritual age. He has greater compassion for them for they have not yet learned what they need to know to follow Him with all their heart. But we all are to be like a child and have absolute faith in God. A child is not full of pride but they are moldable. They are not full of hate but filled with compassion. They do not question their parents but wholly trust and have faith in them. Likewise, the Christian should be toward God. We are to be molded, lovable, filled with compassion, and full of faith.
Are we still acting like a child in God’s eyes or have we matured into an elite Christian who has confidence in our learning and experience to not rely on God for every decision? Let’s look at what happened to one leader who disobeyed God because He leaned on past experience and not the word of God.
“The Lord spoke to Moses, “Take the staff and assemble the community. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will yield its water. You will bring out water for them from the rock and provide drink for the community and their livestock.”
Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust Me to show My holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land I have given them.”
Numbers 20:7-8, 11-12 HCSB

Why would Moses strike the rock twice and not speak to it when God commanded him to speak to it?
“The Lord answered Moses, “Go on ahead of the people and take some of the elders of Israel with you. Take the staff you struck the Nile with in your hand and go. I am going to stand there in front of you on the rock at Horeb; when you hit the rock, water will come out of it and the people will drink.” Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
Exodus 17:5-6 HCSB

Before God had told Moses to hit the rock. But now God has spoken to Moses to speak to the rock but instead, he hit it and had to hit it twice for water to gush out. Moses did not show God the proper holiness that God deserved.
Let us not be like Moses and lean on our past experiences in God to determine how God will work His miracles in our lives, but let us lean on God who will work in us how he sees fit to accomplish his mighty acts in the lives of His childlike followers.
