fields because of Me and the gospel, who will not receive 100 times more, now at this time — houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields, with persecutions — and eternal life in the age to come.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:29-30‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“I assure you,” Jesus said, “there is no one who has left house, brothers or sisters, mother or father, children, orJesus is promising those who leave something for His kingdom will receive 100 times more now and eternal life in His kingdom. But what are the things we are to leave?

1. Houses

2. Brothers

3. Sisters

4. Mothers

5. Fathers

6. Children

7. Fields

I do not see wives or husbands. I also believe that children are to be left until they are old enough to be out of our care. But everything else is leave-able. The marriage covenant is a death do us part covenant and God is not wanting us to leave it for His kingdom. And Children are trainable to be mighty in His Kingdom. So then we will have to leave those relationships that hinder us from walking forward in His kingdom.

So what will we gain if we leave these seven things?

1. Houses

2. Brothers

3. Sisters

4. Mothers

5. Children

6. Fields

7. Eternal life

Notice that Jesus left off Fathers. Why? God is to be our only Father. We will receive father figures but we will never receive more fathers. But the father figures will point us to God as our father.

“Do not call anyone on earth your father, because you have one Father, who is in heaven.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:9‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

I wonder why do most people not have 100 times more House, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, or fields? Is it because they have not left their one house, brother, sister, mother, child, or field. We want to hang on to our one last thing but that one last thing is what is holding us back from receiving our 100.

Jesus is out looking for our one last thing so that we could bring it into our flock of 100.

“What do you think? If a man has 100 sheep, and one of them goes astray, won’t he leave the 99 on the hillside and go and search for the stray? And if he finds it, I assure you: He rejoices over that sheep more than over the 99 that did not go astray.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:12-13‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Yes, I know that in the parable that the one lost lamb is the unsaved that Jesus is bringing into His kingdom. But I think it fits for us today too. When we give up holding on to our last one then Jesus can have it to multiply back to us.

What is the one last thing we are leaving that is holding us back from gaining our 100 times more?

“Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:13-14‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Let us begin to let go of the one and pursue toward the 100 God has for us. Remember how this conversation started between the rich young ruler and Jesus?

“As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life? ”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

The rich young ruler was not ready to let go of his one to walk into eternal life. Let us not be him but pursue Jesus as our one and God as our one Father.
