“So they were even more astonished, saying to one another, “Then who can be saved? ” Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, because all things are possible with God.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:26-27‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Who can be saved? This is the question everyone should be asking. With man, salvation is impossible but with God all things are possible. Nicodemus was talking to Jesus one night wrestling with the same question in John chapter 3.m

“Jesus replied, “I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” “But how can anyone be born when he is old? ” Nicodemus asked Him. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born? ”

“For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.”

This is the same question that aroused in the minds of the people in the house when the man was lowered through the roof.

“Just then some men came, carrying on a mat a man who was paralyzed. They tried to bring him in and set him down before Him. Since they could not find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on the mat through the roof tiles into the middle of the crowd before Jesus.

Seeing their faith He said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven you.”

Then the scribes and the Pharisees began to think: “Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone? ”

But perceiving their thoughts, Jesus replied to them, “Why are you thinking this in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” — He told the paralyzed man, “I tell you: Get up, pick up your mat, and go home.”

We cannot forgive the sins of other people before God and we will not be held responsible for the sins of other people, except our kids, before God. Each person will either stand or kneel before God for their own sins. And only through Jesus will our sins be forgiven.

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“He said to His disciples, “Offenses will certainly come, but woe to the one they come through! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to stumble.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭17:1-2‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

If our actions push kids away from Jesus by leading them down a path of sin then it would be better for us to drown then face the judgment of God for our actions.

So then who can be saved?

“Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

“See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name Him Immanuel, which is translated “God is with us.”

“He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death — even to death on a cross. For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow — of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth — and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:8-11‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Those who humble themselves before God and call on the name of Jesus to be their Lord and Savior will be saved! How about you? Have you called on the name of Jesus? Are you saved? I cannot do it for you but I have to be a light that will draw you to Him.

“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.”
