He threw off his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. Mark 10:50 HCSB
What a response to Jesus' call. This blind man threw off his coat, not caring where it lands, jumped up, there was no hesitation or reluctance and came to Jesus. This moment has finally come. Jesus has heard him and is now calling him. How could he not be excited?
What is our response to Jesus' call? especially if we have been asking for something and Jesus has finally answered. We should be excited too. But what is our response when Jesus calls us to do something hard or out of the ordinary? We hesitate. We doubt. We reason out why it can't be Jesus calling us to do that. Why? We have asked God to do something for us and we get excited when He does it. Then should we not have the same excitement when He asks us to do something for Him?
So Naaman came with his horses and chariots and stood at the door of Elisha’s house. Then Elisha sent him a messenger, who said, “Go wash seven times in the Jordan and your flesh will be restored and you will be clean.”
But Naaman got angry and left, saying, “I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and will wave his hand over the spot and cure the skin disease. Aren’t Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean? ”
So he turned and left in a rage. But his servants approached and said to him, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more should you do it when he tells you, ‘Wash and be clean’? ”
So Naaman went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, according to the command of the man of God. Then his skin was restored and became like the skin of a small boy, and he was clean.

“If you love Me, you will keep My commands.
The one who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”
Jesus answered, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him."

By obeying God we are showing our love for Him. Love equals obedience and obedience equals love.
We love because He first loved us.

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

God proved His love first and now asks us to love Him. He asks to love Him beyond a head knowledge of love, but with all that we have!
“Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest? ” He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
