“They came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, Bartimaeus (the son of Timaeus), a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.” Mark 10:46 HCSB
“As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. There were two blind men sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David! ””

I know this story as having two blind beggars sitting by the road of Jericho as Matthew tells it, but Mark and Luke only have one man by the road. So how do we reconcile this apparent disagreement of the two stories? First, we could say that there are two different healings of Jesus. But there are too many similarities in the story to be different healings. Second, we could say that one of the gospel writers got it wrong. If that was the case then should we throw out that Gospel? But since the whole Bible is God-inspired words written by men then we cannot throw out a gospel and all three can come to some kind of agreement. Then third, we can guess that all twelve of the apostles remembered the heling in twelve different ways and it is not a big deal that Matthew remembers two while Luke and Mark remember one blind beggar.
Mark is the only Gospel to record this blind beggar’s name as Bartimaeus and lists his father's name as Timaeus. This means to us that Mark and Mark’s readers would have been familiar with Bartimaeus. I tend to think that Bartimaeus followed Jesus to the end while the other beggar went back home to see family and friends and left Jesus' ministry maybe sometime around Jesus’ arrest.
“But Jesus said to them, “Have you come out with swords and clubs, as though I were a criminal, to capture Me? Every day I was among you, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn’t arrest Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.” Then they all deserted Him and ran away.”

How will we finish in Jesus’ ministry? Will we stick with Jesus through the difficult time in life? Or will we abandon Jesus because hard and difficult times are happening? I tell you now is not the time to give up on God because times may seem hard now but More difficult times will come! Please determine in your hearts to endure till the end. Giving up now will be the wrong discussion to make.
“Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered. This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come.”

“But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

“Staying with it—that’s what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won’t be sorry, and you’ll be saved. All during this time, the good news—the Message of the kingdom—will be preached all over the world, a witness staked out in every country. And then the end will come.”
