For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.2 Corinthians 4:17 HCSB

Only God can live out and make absolute definitive comments. Because He is all-knowing, all-power, and ever-present.

For God to say that our affliction is momentary and light is a good reminder to us that it is truly momentary and light. God knows that there is a new season changing soon. And all too often we forget that. We forget that a season of struggle will only last a season and will change into a season of blessing in God's timing.

But our affliction will produce for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. God uses our afflictions to bring out the good in us He desires. It is not His desire to keep everyone in bondage but to bring Heaven to them and their situations. But He does use it to bring us to a point in our lives where we trust Him to bring us through it.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.

All things including momentary light affliction will work out for good in our lives if we love God and are called according to His purpose. To love God is to obey Him, and to obey God is to love Him.

“If you love Me, you will keep My commands. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.
The one who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”
Jesus answered, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

Our job is to love and obey God. His jobs are to give us the Holy Spirit, reveal Jesus to us, love us, and make His home in us. God expects things from us to give us what we are expecting. God does not write a blank check to everyone who calls themselves "Christian" But He does offer everything to those who will surrender their will to do His will.

Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us

Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
